Subodh Bhave, portraying Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar, delivered a stellar performance, captivating the audience right up to the climax. Alongside him, a strong ensemble cast added to the film’s appeal. Sumeet Raghavan, playing Shriram Lagoo, seamlessly brought Lagoo’s versatility to life. Vaidehi Parshurami, as Kanchan Ghanekar, stumbled initially but redeemed her performance toward the end, leaving a lasting impact. Prasad Oak, despite being a close friend of Ghanekar, excelled in his supporting role, emerging as a standout performer in the film. Sonali Kulkarni perfectly embodied the essence of Sulochana.

Nandita Dhuri portrayed Dr. Ghanekar’s first wife, skillfully depicting the character’s sacrifice without objecting to his extramarital affairs. Amruta Khanvilkar’s grand entry added a touch of entertainment, and her authentic costumes and hairstyle captured the era’s essence. Overall, the performances transported the audience back 50 years, beautifully reflecting Maharashtra’s rich cultural heritage.

Born in Mumbai in 1930, Kashinath Ghanekar pursued a career in dentistry before discovering his true passion for acting. His stage debut in the 1960s marked the beginning of a remarkable journey. His portrayal of Chhatrapati Sambhaji in the play “Raigadala Jevha Jaag Yete” solidified his status as a leading actor.
