Tea is a popular beverage that comes in various types each with unique flavors aromas and characteristics Since I born i am seeing that people are turning away from chai to green tea Here is a list of 4 most popular types of tea in India

1. Black Tea: This is one of the most widely consumed types of tea in India. It is fully oxidized, resulting in a robust and bold flavor. Black tea comes in many varieties, such as Assam, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, and English Breakfast. It makes my day in the early morning and evening.

2. Green Tea: Green tea is unoxidized and retains a more delicate flavor profile compared to black tea. It is popular in many Asian countries and is known for its health benefits due to the presence of antioxidants. Indians like me are super mad about it, and due to its health benefits, many have quit chai and started consuming green tea. The most popular and my favorite green tea comes with Tulsi flavoring (Tulsi Green Tea: added Lemon and ginger).

3. White Tea: The least processed of all teas, white tea is made from young tea leaves and buds. It is simply withered and dried, resulting in a subtle and delicate flavor with a light color.

4. Oolong Tea: Oolong tea is partially oxidized, giving it a taste profile that falls between green and black tea. It can vary widely in flavor and aroma, with some oolongs having floral or fruity notes. I have never tried Oolong but soon I am going to try this one.

5. Pu-erh Tea: Pu-erh is a fermented tea that originates from China’s Yunnan province. It can be either raw (sheng) or ripened (shou), and it often develops a complex and earthy flavor over time. Pu-erh tea is costly due to its fermentation nature. You can buy this tea directly from here

6. Yellow Tea: This rare and expensive tea type undergoes a unique processing method that involves a slight oxidation and a “smothering” step that gives it a mellow flavor. This is one of my next adventures, this yellow tea is cheaper than the other brand.

7. Herbal Tea: Not technically tea, herbal teas are infusions made from various plants, flowers, and herbs. Common herbal teas include chamomile, peppermint, rooibos, and hibiscus, among others. Hibiscus has many health benefits for hair, if you ever want to taste it, try Hibiscus flower herbal tea.

8. Matcha: A finely ground powdered green tea, matcha is popular in Japanese tea ceremonies. It has a distinct, rich flavor and is often used in culinary applications as well.

9. Chai: India wakes up with Chai on the table first. It is loved by billions of Indians and people in other parts of the country. Chai is a spiced tea beverage that typically includes black tea, milk, and a combination of spices like cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves. It’s commonly enjoyed in South Asia and other parts of the world.

10. Blooming Tea: Also known as flowering tea. This is a type of artisan tea made by hand-tying tea leaves and edible flowers together. When steeped in hot water, it unfurls into a beautiful, blooming display.

These are just a few examples of the many types of tea available in India and worldwide. The world of tea is fascinating and diverse to explore because each type has its own distinctive qualities. Let me know in the comment box, the name of your favorite tea.
